Area Event Manager – North Hampshire

Hampshire Chamber of Commerce help to make businesses more successful, by providing networking opportunities, business support and advice, as well as a great range of Products and Services. We have offices in Fareham, Basingstoke, Winchester, Southampton.

The Area Event Manager is responsible for delivering a professional and profitable events programme in that meets the needs of the Membership Growth Strategy in North Hampshire.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Organise and attend allocated area events and liaise with sponsors venues and speakers to facilitate networking opportunities.
  • Look for new opportunities to hold key events and help bid for funded events through British Chambers of Commerce and others where appropriate.
  • Provide a draft budget for local area events to the Business Development Manager and secure sponsorship to achieve budgeted income
  • Liaise with the Marketing Executive on any marketing material/social media campaigns required and to uphold brand guidelines when producing any event related literature.
  • Identify PR opportunities both pre and post event.
  • Provide timely input to the Chamber magazine on local area events and to proof relevant pages. Overview events listing page for magazine & ensure deadlines met
  • Provide event administration with pre and post support (event proforma, work flow charts, thank you letters & e-mails, updated event revenues, invoice checks & requests to raise where appropriate).
  • Ensure payment for events is obtained chasing where required
  • Liaise with the Business Development Manager to ensure any leads for membership generated at events are followed up either personally or by the team.

Experience of running events together with a knowledge of an event management booking systems is preferred although training will be given. Applicants will have a knowledge and understanding of the business landscape and issues together with a good awareness of venues across North Hampshire.

The successful candidate will be organised and be able to work under their own initiative.  An experienced negotiator with a meticulous attention to detail.

A 35 hour week 9am– 5pm, a driving licence and transport is essential as is flexibility to attend morning and evening events.
